Frequently asked questions

What's a project user?

Project users are the owners of a project and can create and update releases, as well as edit settings for their project.

How do categories work?

Categories classify your releases and are used to segment updates to users. For example, you can create categories for different products, workstreams, teams, or in any way that maps to your org structure.

What's a hosted LaunchNotes page?

A publicly accessible web page that serves as the single source of truth for all public facing product changes. As an example, here's our hosted LaunchNotes page.

How do subscriptions work?

When end users or stakeholders subscribe to updates, they can subscribe to any category they're interested in. Updates can be delivered via email or Slack, and are sent in real-time.

Do you discount for non-profits?

We do! We're pleased to offer free service to both registered charitable organizations and qualifying Open Source projects. Contact communitylicense [at] launchnotes.io to apply.

What's with the asterisk?

These features are coming soon! Subscribe to our public release stream to receive real-time updates on what we're working on, and which of these new features will be shipping when.
